Tango dancer,
Recently a student of ours came to ask me why she was regularly losing her balance during the dance, despite all her efforts.
Indeed, her and her partner had worked hard at doing individual exercises for balance.
When they practiced the movements in practice embrace they both felt comfortable… but when they went into close embraces they both started feeling wobbly.
When I worked with them we realized that it was because of the position of their hands in the open side of the embrace.
So in the video below, we answer the million dollar question: « where should I put my hand ?!? »
Placing it « incorrectly » is something that we see regularly yet that is easy to correct.
All you need is awareness, and then you and your partner will feel much more grounded in the dance!
Click on the video to learn:
- How to know where your hand should be in the open side of the embrace
- Why placing it « incorrectly » will make you or your partner lose balance
- How to place your hand so that you are not overpowering your partner and instead make them feel good in your arms!
We really hope it helps!
